Purpose:
The Sr. Advisor for Real-World Analytics provides technical leadership and expertise in initiating and carrying out the evidence generation plans for Medical Affairs, Access & Reimbursement, and Real-World Evidence. The Sr. Advisor is responsible for working with scientists to ensure that the proposed evidence generation activities are scientifically sound.
Primary Responsibilities: The job tasks listed below outline the scope of the position. The application of these tasks may vary, based upon current business needs.
Statistical Design and Analysis
- Is a successful problem solver who can use technical expertise to work closely with other functions to answer important questions about our products by translating strategic needs into innovative statistical solutions.
- Leads the use of the most efficient or innovative approach in evidence generation, ensuring the most appropriate designs for answering efficacy and safety questions to be submitted to external stakeholders. Demonstrates competency in justifying methodology selected.
- Leads statistical activities, with the development of protocols, analysis plans and execution, interpretation, and publication for non-interventional studies, Real World Evidence (RWE) research, data mining, and network meta-analyses/indirect comparisons.
- Leads statistical activities and work with cross therapeutic development team to develop statistical insights using real world data (Claim data, registry, EMR) to help with study design, portfolio strategy and study execution.
- Provide technical statistical leadership to data-related research in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and reimbursement globally (US, Europe, Asia Pacific and other geographies) to help enhance the success of the compound considering agency requirements across the globe.
- Perform peer-review of work products from other statistical colleagues.
- Ensures high quality statistical support for projects through the oversight of CRO suppliers, and provide input into outsourcing strategy and processes
Training and Development
- Keep up to date with respect to statistical methodology, particularly in methods applicable to real-world data, real-world evidence, observational research, in Medical Affairs, and causal inference to maintain proficiency in applying new and varied methods, and to be competent in justifying methods selected.
Communication of Results
- Collaborate with team members or external partners to communicate results.
- Assist with or be responsible for communicating study results via reimbursement dossiers/submissions, manuscripts, or oral presentations.
- Communicate results in one-on-one meetings with key customers or external partners and present at scientific and therapeutically focused meetings.
Therapeutic/Scientific Area Knowledge
- Understand disease states, competitive landscapes and reimbursement environment in order to enhance the level of customer focus and collaboration and be seen as a strong scientific contributor.
Regulatory Compliance
- Perform work in full compliance with assigned curriculum(s) and will be responsible for following applicable Corporate, local, and departmental policies, procedures, processes, and training.
Statistical leadership and Teamwork
- Introduce and apply innovative methodology and tools to solve critical problems.
- Merge scientific thinking and business knowledge to identify issues, evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Lead projects independently and work effectively across functions. Apply technical expertise to influence business decisions.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Statistics OR Biostatistics
- At least 3 years of proven experience in real-world evidence generation. Additional experience with clinical related research is preferred.
Other Information/Additional Preferences:
- Significant experience with electronic medical records and/or healthcare claims databases
- Broad expertise in causal inference approaches
- Experience with health economic modeling
- Experience interacting with HTA/payer or regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of psychometric analyses to evaluate measurement scales/instruments
- Interpersonal communication skills for effective customer consultation
- Teamwork and leadership skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and critical thinking
- Proficient in statistical programming languages/software such as SAS, R, Spotfire, WinBUG, etc

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$142,500 - $228,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
