About the Role
We are seeking a Scientist, Precision Medicine / Bioinformatics (Quantitative Biomarker Sciences) to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you will support clinical research activities that advance new treatments for patients. This position plays a key role in biomarker data analysis, pipeline automation, data quality oversight, and cross-study data integration. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, follow industry-standard processes and regulated practices, and contribute to study operations from planning through data delivery.
Responsibilities include executing well-defined analytical requests, maintaining data processing pipelines, performing quality control checks, building interactive data visualization tools, and supporting AI-assisted analysis code development. With diverse teams and continuous learning opportunities, this role offers pathways to deepen your expertise in precision medicine, biomarker science, and bioinformatics while making a meaningful impact on clinical research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute data analysis and visualization tasks with minimal supervision, including figure and analysis updates, pipeline execution, data quality control, and results delivery
- Run and optimize automated data processing pipelines, perform routine quality control on outputs, document run parameters and versions, and generate analytical outputs
- Build and refresh interactive data viewers using RMarkdown, Quarto, or Shiny for single-study and cross-study data exploration; package and publish outputs in agreed team formats
- Support cross-study database integration activities including data collation, standardization, variable mapping, identifier harmonization, and validation
- Contribute to experiment preparation activities such as generating balanced sample layouts and coordinating downstream submission steps
- Maintain a reusable library of prompts, code snippets, and workflows for common bioinformatics tasks; establish coding standards and provide guidance on AI-assisted analysis workflows
Candidate Profile
You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- Advanced proficiency in R programming and R Shiny for data analysis and interactive visualization
- Strong expertise in biomarker data analytics, high-dimensional proteomic datasets, and data quality management
- Experience with version control tools (GitHub) and working within regulated environments with strict compliance practices
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for data processing and automation
- Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to quickly learn emerging technologies
- Experience with biological, clinical, or preclinical data analysis in life sciences
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in cross-functional environments
- Excellent English language proficiency (spoken and written)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or related discipline
- 4+ years of programming experience, preferably in life sciences or clinical research environments
- Demonstrated expertise in R programming, R Shiny, and Bash scripting
- Hands-on experience with biomarker data analytics and proteomic data analysis
- Proficiency with version control tools (Git/GitHub) and experience following SOPs in regulated environments
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related field
- Experience with Olink proteomic platform or other high-dimensional biomarker technologies
- Knowledge of cardiovascular, metabolic, immunology, hematology, oncology, renal, neurodegenerative, or rare genetic disease research
- Familiarity with basic statistical modeling fundamentals (linear/logistic models, survival analysis, multiple testing correction)
- Experience with Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools
